Cowater Mozambique Project Receives Consulting Engineers of Ontario Award of Excellence News

23 April, 2014

This month, Cowater was a proud recipient of the Ontario Consulting Engineering Award of Excellence for our Millennium Challenge Account-funded project in Mozambique. This award program, created by the Consulting Engineers of Ontario (CEO), recognizes projects that have elevated the economic, social and environmental well-being in Ontario and around the globe. Cowater managed this complex 5-year, USD 4.6M program providing access to water and sanitation to 315,000 beneficiaries in two Northern provinces in Mozambique, improving health and quality of life. Cowater was responsible for planning, scheduling, financial management, design, and construction supervision of 600 rural water systems in this multi-linguistic environment. To maximize sustainability and impact, Cowater trained 25 facilitators to work with communities, mobilize their participation, promote good health and hygiene, and facilitate construction of household sanitation facilities.
